What happens at the booth

  1. The doodle booth with its insert coin slot and READY! window

    Insert coin

Every guest gets a wooden sunflower token. It goes into the coin slot, I ring the bell, and we’re on.

  2. Guests gathered around the live doodle booth at a market

    Sit down, chat

You sit across from me and we talk about whatever. You don’t have to hold still. Just try not to sneeze.

  3. A couple's doodle held up next to the photo it was drawn from

    The pen goes

Ink straight onto the card. No pencil, no undo. Your friends will crowd round and narrate every line.

  4. A happy guest holding up the doodle cards drawn at the booth

    READY!

The card comes out of the READY! window and it’s yours to keep. Most people photograph it before they’ve even stood up.

A doodle booth for your wedding

Your guests will get photos, food and probably a return gift. The doodle is the one thing with their own face on it, made at your wedding, and those tend to live on fridges for years.

It works best at the mehendi, sangeet, cocktail night or reception, when people are hanging around between things. There’s always one uncle who says no, then comes back with the whole family. Want your names and the date on every card? That’s what custom cards are for.

me, in my natural habitat
the person holding the pen

Hi, I’m Baasi

I’m an artist in Bengaluru. I paint watercolours of the city, make prints and postcards, run a little mail club, and on weekends I sit inside a booth and draw strangers.

I was always the one with a sketchbook, drawing whoever was nearby. Then I noticed people liked watching the drawing happen even more than getting it. So I built a booth around that moment: a sign, a curtain window, a coin slot, a bell, and a READY! window for the card to come out of.

Questions people ask me

What is a doodle booth?

A doodle booth is a live drawing station for events. Guests sit down on their own or in pairs, and I draw them in ink on a small card while they watch. They take the card home. Think photo booth, but drawn by a person.

How long does each doodle take?

About 2 to 3 minutes a face in black and white, so roughly 20 to 30 faces an hour. A couple on one card takes a little longer.

How many guests can you draw at a wedding?

It depends on how many hours you book. Three hours is about 60 to 90 faces, five hours about 100 to 150. For a big guest list, book longer or ask me about a bigger setup.

How much does a doodle booth cost in Bengaluru?

Rs. 4,200 an hour, with a 3-hour minimum. Travel is free within 10 km of Banaswadi and a flat Rs. 1,000 elsewhere in the city. Custom cards are extra.

Do you travel outside Bengaluru?

Yes, anywhere in India. Outside Bengaluru it’s Rs. 4,500 an hour with a 4-hour minimum, plus travel and stay for your city.

Have you done corporate and brand events?

Yes. I’ve doodled at events for Deloitte, Plum, Brady and NEXT, 11+ brands in all, and 44+ events overall. The cards can carry your logo, event name or campaign line.

Is it AI, or printed?

Neither. Every doodle is drawn by hand, in ink, in front of the guest. There’s no printer at the booth.

Is a doodle the same as a caricature?

They’re close cousins. Caricatures usually exaggerate features for laughs. My doodles are chibi style: small, cute and kind. Nobody leaves upset about their nose.

Can you draw couples, kids, families and pets?

Yes to all of it. Couples and small groups can share one card, and pets are honestly the best part of my day.

Can the cards have our names, date or logo?

Yes. Custom cards are Rs. 500 for the first 50 and Rs. 300 for every 50 after that. Names, a date, a hashtag, a logo or a campaign line all work.

What do you need at the venue?

One table, three chairs, shade or a roof and decent light. I bring the booth, pens and cards.

How early should I book?

As soon as you have a date, because weekends in wedding season go first. I need at least 3 days’ notice.

Can I get doodled without an event?

Yes. With the online doodle booth you send a photo, pick a frame, and I post the card to you anywhere in India. It starts at Rs. 180. Try the online doodle booth.

How do I book the doodle booth?

Open the booking page, answer a few questions about your event and send the request. I reply within 24 hours to confirm the date and the final quote. Book the doodle booth.
