Hey, I’m Basid.Most people just call me Baasi.
I’m the artist and designer behind Baasi’s Art Shop, a tiny corner of imagination and serenity tucked away in the hustle and bustle of Bengaluru.
For me, art isn’t something that happens behind a screen. I chase it out in the wild, racing the shifting light with my watercolours and gouache to catch the soul of a place before it changes. I’m deeply moved by the quiet magic of Ghibli, the nostalgia of anime, and stories that make your heart ache just a little.
So I turn those fleeting ink-and-wash moments into things you can hold: calendars that mark your days, totes that carry your world, and prints that feel like a shared secret.

The story
I chose solitude, not loneliness.

Comfort, not escape
Art became my comfort, not my escape. I paint slowly and with intention. Every brushstroke matters. Every colour has a reason. I built Baasi.in the same way I create: without rushing, without compromise.
Honesty over perfection
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about honesty. About showing up to the canvas every day, even when inspiration feels far away. About building something real in a world that often feels too fast, too loud.
Trusting the process
I don’t have everything figured out, and that’s okay. I move slowly and take my time with what I’m building. Every small effort and imperfect attempt adds up to something real. I trust the process I’m in.
There is no rush when you’re creating something that matters.
